COOPER, Justice.

This is an action by a patient and her husband against a treating physician for damages alleged to have been the result of malpractice by the physician in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The trial court approved a jury verdict awarding the patient, Terry K. Smith, $150,000.00 in damages, and her husband $35,000.00, and entered judgment in accord with the verdict.
