This is an election contest. Plaintiff, Elden Brunet, and defendant, Johnny Chapman, were candidates for the office of Evangeline Parish Police Juror, District 7 in the October 27, 1979, primary election. Both the unofficial and official results showed the defendant, Johnny Chapman, receiving 612 votes and plaintiff, Elden Brunet, receiving 610 votes.
