FITZGERALD, J.

Defendant was convicted by a jury of carrying a dangerous weapon, namely, a machete, in a motor vehicle contrary to MCL 750.227; MSA 28.424. The sole issue on appeal is whether MCL 750.227; MSA 28.424 proscribes the carrying of all pointed tools, utensils, or objects. We answer this question in the negative and vacate defendant's conviction.
