The parties to this appeal were married in 1952. They separated February 13,1977. Appellee Gula Lytle, the wife, filed a petition for separate maintenance against appellant, Dr. Jimmie Lytle, on March 1,1977. Dr. Lytle filed a counterclaim for absolute divorce on the ground of indignities to the person. After several preliminary hearings and orders, the case was set for trial on February 28, 1978.
