The appellant was tried and convicted in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County of first degree rape, first degree sexual offense, burglary, and assault and battery. The charges arose out of an incident which took place on April 6, 1978, when someone broke into the victim's apartment, struck her with a blunt object, performed cunnilingus on her, and raped her.
