This appeal arises out of a proceeding finding the natural father, Archie Trotter, unfit and severing his parental rights to his minor children, Nyree and Eric.

The case was originally tried prior to court unification and Archie Trotter appealed adverse rulings of the juvenile court of Wyandotte County to the district court where he was granted a trial de novo. The trial de novo was conducted without recording the proceedings by any means, and...
