The defendant, Charles Newman, was tried by a jury and convicted of rape, A.R.S. §§ 13-611 and 614; burglary, §§ 13-301 and 302; and attempted burglary, §§ 13-301 and 302.* He was adjudged guilty and sentenced to not less than 7 nor more than 22 1/2 years for the rape; not less than 5 nor more than 7 1/2 years for the burglary; and not less than 4 years, 9 months nor more than 5 years...
