LANDRY, Judge.

Defendant (Appellant) appeals from judgment awarding plaintiff (Appellee) $1,000.00 in general damages for defamatory statements by Appellant accusing Appellee of theft. Appellee has also appealed requesting an increase in the amount of the award. We affirm.
