Plaintiff Stubbs, an attorney, by letter to the board of directors of defendant bank, made an offer to purchase the "old Tattnall Bank building" and the land thereunder for use as a law office for $22,500, payable in 10 days. The board of directors met and, according to the minutes of that meeting, instructed the bank president "to make Mr. Stubbs an offer of $30,000 and then try and get as close to that figure as possible."1
