The appellee, James Linwood Strickland, for whatever else he may lack, suffers not for want of chutzpah.1 Strickland set out to bribe Judge Sylvania W. Woods, a District Court Judge in Prince George's County. The purpose of the bribe was to have Judge Woods show leniency toward a friend of Strickland who had a case pending before the judge.
