At the conclusion of a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Claude Smith, Jr., was found guilty of two counts of voluntary manslaughter (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 9-2). He was sentenced to a term of 2 1/2, to 10 years imprisonment. On appeal, defendant contends the two killings were justified because the deadly force he used was necessary to prevent the commission...
