Appellant, Bruce Alan Bingman (Bingman), was convicted on June 6, 1978, of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, phencyclidine, in violation of Maryland Code (1957, 1976 Repl. Vol.), Art. 27, § 286 (a) (1). His trial was before a judge sitting without a jury.
