On January 17, 1978, a jury convicted appellant of voluntary manslaughter, simple and aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of a child. After denying post-verdict motions, the trial court sentenced appellant to consecutive terms of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years for voluntary manslaughter and 1 to 2 years for aggravated assault.
