On October 6, 1961, while a passenger, plaintiff was injured in a four-car collision on the Lodge Expressway. After the car in which plaintiff was a passenger struck the suddenly-stopping car in front of it, defendant drove his car into the rear end of the car in which plaintiff was a passenger.
