Appellant was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The decedent, five-month-old Rollin Morris, had been born in September, 1976. In February, 1977, appellant's wife left him and the baby at home while she went to the store. Upon returning about 15 minutes later, she found the baby severely burned on his left side. The wounds were dressed and were beginning to heal when on March 8, 1977, appellant was engaged...
