This is an appeal from an order by the trial court dismissing the charge of assault, D.C.Code 1973, § 22-504, against appellee on the ground that his constitutional right to a speedy trial had been violated. The record reflects that almost two years, viz., 22 months, elapsed between arrest and the trial date when the court entered its dismissal order, and hence this delay alone gives prima facie merit to appellee's claim.
