ABBOTT, J.:

This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Robert B. Stoops, from six convictions of theft in violation of K.S.A. 1978 Supp. 21-3701 and from one conviction of making a false writing in violation of K.S.A. 21-3711.

The defendant was originally charged with a total of eleven crimes in three separate informations. The cases were consolidated for trial. All of the charges involved the alleged theft of motorcycles, motorcycle trailers, motorcycle titles...
