The question in this appeal is whether the district court committed error by permitting the Government to prove that the defendant had been convicted of more than one prior felony under a charge that the defendant had possessed a firearm in violation of 18 App. U.S.C. § 1202(a)(1).2 We hold that the district judge did commit error but that under the circumstances of this case, the error was harmless.
