Appellant Webster was convicted on multiple counts of possessing and distributing cocaine. The evidence that he did so was overwhelming; indeed, he took the stand and admitted his involvement in the larger transaction charged. His defense at trial was founded entirely on a theory of entrapment: that he was seduced into committing the offense by the importunings of a female government informant...
