The infant plaintiff Tawnee Gaither was injured on August 25, 1977, when the school bus in which she was riding collided with a truck on Woolper Road in Boone County, Kentucky. The bus was owned by the Boone County Board of Education and was operated by its employee, Larry Issac; the truck, owned by Joseph Kahman, was driven at the time of the accident by Roger Noble.
