This is a suit brought by a nation-wide stock brokerage firm, Hornblower & Weeks-Hemphill, Noyes, Inc. (Hornblower), to recover moneys allegedly due from one of its customers, appellee, Virgil Crane, II (Crane). Crane answered, pleading limitations among other things, and filed a counterclaim for recovery of $6,285.46, the sum Hornblower had withdrawn from Crane's stock account as an "offset."
