On May 28, 1973, Judy Roth suffered a stroke allegedly occasioned by her ingestion of birth control pills manufactured by Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation and prescribed for her by Dr. Charles D. Bell and Dr. Carl W. Allen. On May 18, 1976, Mrs. Roth and her husband, Ronald Roth, filed suit against Drs.
