Petitioner, a Type B not-for-profit corporation (see Not-For-Profit Corporation Law, § 201), on September 24, 1972, purchased a 372-acre campsite in the Town of Shandaken, Ulster County, near Woodstock, New York. The camp was formerly owned and operated by the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Lutheran Church in America.
