The defendant, Ismael Burgos, has entered a plea of guilty to robbery in the first degree (Penal Law, § 160.15). The People have filed a predicate felony statement alleging that on July 26, 1977, Burgos was convicted of burglary in the first degree (Cal Penal Code, § 459), after a plea of guilty in Eureka County, California. Burgos was committed to the California Youth Authority from whose custody he escaped on April 8,
