The evidence introduced by the District Attorney was in substance that the defendant was one of three men walking behind the deceased, that as a preliminary to a robbery the defendant struck the deceased over the head with a blunt instrument inflicting injuries that resulted in his death some days later, and that the defendant, the two men walking with him, and another who was walking beside the deceased, swarmed over him, some or all of them (varying with the testimony)...
