Plaintiff Bank of St. Louis brought four separate actions pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1332 seeking to recover sums allegedly due on promissory notes. Defendants Morrissey, as assignee of the EFG Cattle Company, and Appel, counterclaimed against plaintiff Bank and Longmeyer.
