Petitioner seeks habeas corpus relief pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. The petitioner asserts that he was ineffectively assisted by counsel in proceedings culminating in petitioner's conviction on charges of malicious wounding. He further asserts that his plea of guilty to the charges was entered involuntarily.
