OPINION

WOOD, Chief Judge.

The sixteen counts of the indictment charged fraud, conspiracy to defraud, attempted fraud, or conspiracy to attempt fraud. All the charges involved financial dealings with Great West (Great West Savings and Loan Association). Eight counts were dismissed prior to trial. Of the eight counts tried, the jury convicted Thoreen of five. The convictions were of one count of fraud and four counts of conspiracy to defraud. Our discussion...
