On March 20, 1975, the Board of Education of the Reorganized School District No. R-IV of St. Francois and Washington Counties, Missouri (school district) voted not to renew the teaching contracts of Ron F. Greminger, Sherry J. Greminger and Gary D. Burkett. The teachers brought suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against the school district, the principal of the high school where they had been employed and the individual members of the Board of Education...
