Rogelio Tamayo (hereinafter "defendant") was indicted for one count of attempt murder and two counts of aggravated battery in Winnebago County. Judge John Ghent, after a fitness hearing, found the defendant fit to stand trial. Following a jury trial the defendant was found guilty of both attempt murder and one count of aggravated battery.
