ROGOSHESKE, Justice.

Plaintiff Terry Ryman was bitten by a dog owned by defendant Jack Alt1 while Alt was holding the dog on a chain. Terry and her father, plaintiff Harry Ryman, brought this action for damages. The case was submitted to the jury by special verdict and under instructions based upon the elements of the common-law scienter action requiring the jury to find that the dog had a vicious propensity known to Alt in order for plaintiffs...
