Like State v. Voisine, Me., 391 A.2d 1196 (1978), this case arose out of the payroll padding scheme in the Portland Public Works Department. The trial in this case was held two months after the trial of Voisine. With some exceptions, the evidence before the jury was similar to that described in the Voisine case.
