The defendant-appellant, George Leonard Ledford, was indicted for second degree murder as the result of his wife's death at their rural Marshall County home on the night of May 26, 1976. Upon the defendant's motion, venue was transferred to Bedford County, where Ledford was subsequently tried and convicted by a jury of second degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment...
