The appellant Mendoza was charged with another defendant, Ayala, in September 1975 with the May 30, 1975, armed robbery of Fidel Balcazar. Prior to trial both defendants moved to suppress as evidence objects1 seized by the police after the defendants' arrest claiming the seizure was illegal.
