Defendant Ronald DeWayne Maynard was convicted by jury on June 2, 1976, of attempted larceny from a motor vehicle, contrary to MCL 750.356a; MSA 28.588(1). On August 25, 1976, he was sentenced to from 20 months to 2-1/2 years imprisonment. Defendant filed this appeal as of right on December 6, 1976. GCR 1963, 806.1.
