In the course of a criminal prosecution in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, the indigent defendant's appointed counsel moved successfully for a change of venue. This change made it necessary for the state and defense witnesses, numbering more than seventy-five, to travel from Palm Beach County to Duval County, a distance of some three hundred miles.
