In the early morning hours of June 3, 1975, a car driven by Billy Avon Dunagan (appellee), in which Jo Ann Keahey (appellant) was a passenger, collided with a tree in Chevy Chase, Maryland, causing substantial injuries to Ms. Keahey. Claiming that she was, at the time of the accident, in the employ of Mr. Dunagan or his company, Ms. Keahey filed a claim under the California Workmen's Compensation Act, and ultimately...
