At issue in this case is the custody of the seven-year-old son of the divorced plaintifffather and defendant-mother. Although the child has lived with his father since the parties last separated in 1973, with brief exceptions, the district court found that it would be in the best interest of the child that his custody be awarded to the defendant-mother.
