Alexander Pope, in his "Moral Essays," Epistle III, to Allen Lord Bathurst, begins a poem in which he explores the effect of avarice on mankind by posing the question, "Who shall decide when doctors disagree, and soundest Causists doubt, like you and me?"1 We here supply the answer — not the judge, but the jury.
