The appellant, Larry Eugene Evans, was tried by a jury and convicted of first-degree murder and armed robbery on August 27, 1976. On September 23, 1976, following an aggravation-mitigation hearing pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-454, the trial judge sentenced appellant to concurrent sentences of death (for the first-degree murder) and seventy-five years (for the armed robbery).
