This case arose from an intersection collision at the corner of Burns and Defoe Streets in Missoula, Montana, on January 3, 1974. Plaintiff Lenora Yates was driving north on Burns Street and defendant Mark Hedges was driving west on Defoe Street when their vehicles collided in the intersection.
