JONES v. UNITED STATES

No. 12620.

391 A.2d 1188 (1978)

Donald E. JONES, Jr., Appellant, v. UNITED STATES, Appellee.

District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Decided September 18, 1978.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Simon L. Weker, Washington, D. C., appointed by this court, was on the brief for appellant.

Earl J. Silbert, U. S. Atty., John A. Terry, Robert F. O'Neill and John H. Korns, II, Asst. U. S. Attys., Washington, D. C., were on the brief for appellee.

Before YEAGLEY, MACK and FERREN, Associate Judges.

YEAGLEY, Associate Judge:

Appellant was convicted of possession of marijuana (D.C.Code 1973, § 33-402). The sole question presented for review is whether the trial court erred in denying appellant's motion to suppress the marijuana found in his car by a police officer. In answering this question, we are faced with another of "the myriad daily situations in which policemen and citizens confront each other." Terry v. Ohio, 392 U.S. 1
