Plaintiff, Joseph Bearden, instituted this action for workmen's compensation benefits under LSA-R.S. 23:1021, et seq. against his employer, Leon C. Breaux Towing Co., Inc., and its insurer, Travelers Insurance Company. Bearden alleged that he suffered injuries while working as captain of a vessel operating on the Intracoastal Canal.
