RABINOWITZ, Justice.

In April 1977, a three count indictment was returned against Teddy M. Wassilie in which he was charged with the felony crimes of assault with a dangerous weapon, forcible rape, and assault with intent to commit-rape.1 After trial by jury, Wassilie was found guilty on each of the three counts and was subsequently sentenced to serve 3 years with 18 months suspended...
