In 1977, the Nevada Legislature enacted into law Chapter 534, Statutes of Nevada, which in essential part provides for the enlargement of the City of Las Vegas to include a defined area conditionally subject to an affirmative vote from both the inhabitants of the present city and the inhabitants of the area sought to be annexed.
