In this suit plaintiff, Marie Sanders Hurks, seeks recovery of workman's compensation death benefits plus penalties and attorney's fees from the employer of her deceased son, Lawrence Hurks. By supplemental and amending petition, Ernest Hurks, divorced husband of plaintiff and father of the deceased, joined with the original plaintiff and sought recovery of the sum of $1500.00 for burial expenses of Lawrence Hurks.
