CONNOR, Justice.

Appellants were convicted by a jury in the district court of joyriding in violation of AS 28.35.010.1 Michael Notar was sentenced to nine days with eight suspended and a fine of $400, while James Miller was sentenced to 12 days with 11 suspended and a fine of $500.
