The State of Florida appeals an order suppressing certain incriminating statements made by the appellee, Thomas Holt, in a prosecution for homicide.

At the time of his indictment for murder, Thomas Holt was a confidential informant for the United States Drug Enforcement Agency [hereinafter D.E.A.] and had been for some time. Mr. Holt's occupation required that he regularly provide information to law enforcement officers about drug trafficking...
