This is an appeal from a judgment of expropriation. The State of Louisiana, Through the Department of Highways, (hereinafter referred to as Department) expropriated a tract of land owned by defendants, Rose Ferguson Gormley, et al., in Leesville, Vernon Parish, Louisiana. The general purpose was to relieve congestion of traffic on Highway 171 in the City of Leesville. Highway 171, which was formerly a two-way street in Leesville for traffic going north...
