Appellees, James Jay Bettis, individually and as independent executor of the estate of James W. Bettis, Jr., and his brother, Douglas Dewey Bettis, sued appellant, Ann Joy Bettis Nolan, their stepmother, and four local attorneys. Appellees' suit sought damages and an order canceling a trustee's deed to appellant of three hundred and sixty-one acres of land located in Travis County.
